Terms and Conditions

Purchasing at the Bristish Store webshop can only be done online at www.britishstore.hu, or at www.thebritishstore.hu web pages. We are not able to accept orders made over telephone , e-mail, or mail. All prices in the webshop are valid prices, but exclusive of shipping fee. The actual valid prices are always the prices given at the time of placing the order. Should a false price appear in the webshop due to some technical failure, we contact you via telephone or e-mail prior to dispatching the product for you. These orders will not be considered valid. We reserve the right to change the prices of the products.


Registration

You do not need to register if you are only browsing the web shop of British Store, and viewing its contents, or products.
However prior to ordering from British Store web shop you need to register. At registration billing address, telephone number, and other obligatory personal information must be given. These given data will be valid while processing the orders. These data are essential for fulfilling the orders. You willfully and knowingly guarantee that the data you have given are real ones. You may check their validity at any time, or even modify them. The sent data of the given order cannot be modified after placing the order. However prior to each new order you may modify your data. After giving your personal data the system will automatically send you an e-mail of your account details to the address you specified. These details may be modified later at “Account details”. Should you forget your password you may retrieve it at “Forgot your password?” menu.

All personal data that you give us will only be used for processing your orders, or to contact you in case of any problems.


Placing an order

The products purchased at British Store webshop must not be resold; we only sell them to end-users! The amount of VAT may vary depending on the product. The prices of the products are valid according to the volume given in the specification, or refer to one piece of product if not stated otherwise. In the product specification the volume and the percent of alcohol content of the beverages are also given. Prior to placing the order you may change, or check the content of your shopping cart by clicking on the “Shopping cart” menu in the top right corner. After confirmation of the data click on the shopping cart which takes you to the checkout. The ordering process can be aborted any time until the 4th step i.e. “confirm the order” (clicking on the “order” button), but not after that. The system will send you an automatic confirmation by e-mail. We shall contact you either by phone, or e-mail if any unwanted problem occurs. You may check the status of your current order(s) on the left hand side in “Account information” menu at “current orders”. The minimum value of order is HUF 2 000 without shipping fee. Please note! We only sell alcoholic drinks to registered customers over 18!


Payment options

The mode of payment can be chosen while placing an order. You may pay by credit card, bank transfer, paypal, red postal cheque or upon receipt of the package. In case of purchasing products of over 10 000 HUF value please in all cases pay the purchase price in advance. The shipping delivery can be chosen in this case as well.

The purchased products will be delivered only after payment; the only exception is if purchasing below 10 000 HUF and with personal receipt.

Paying with bank card

From July 2008 you may pay for the products by bank card in our webshop. By using bankcard for payment you can do your shopping comfortably and safely. After ordering you only have to enter your data needed for purchasing on the homepage of the bank, therefore they cannot be accessed by the salesperson in any case. The data are delivered to the bank through encryption, HTTPS protocol. You need to give the below data for online order:

  • Bankcard number: the sequence of 10, 15 or 16 numbers on the cover of the card.
  • CVC2 (CVV2) code: it can be found on the back cover of the card, on the signature panel. It is a sequence of 3 numbers which can only be used for electronic shopping. MasterCard, VISA, and VISA Electron card have this CVC2 code.
  • The expiration date of the bankcard: date which appears on the cover of the bankcard in the format of month/year. So if it says 05/07, it means that the card is valid until the last day of May 2007.

 

What type of cards do we accept?

You may only use cards for online shopping which has a CVC2 code on it. These are MasterCard, VISA, or VISA Electron. With MasterCard Electronic and Maestro card you may not execute online transactions.

Complaints, claims

The user/owner of the bankcard should primarily turn to the bank which issued the card, or to OTP Bank in case of any complaints concerning the payment transaction, data handling, encryption, or bank card.

In case of bank transfer please use the following bank account number:

In case the purchase price of the product is not transferred within 1 week, we will try to get in contact with you to clarify the reason of it. Should we fail to contact you we will immediately cancel the order, and send an e-mail to you.

The payment process at personal receipt of the product is according to the conditions defined at delivery conditions.


PayPal mode of payment

  1. You need to have a Paypal account (or any bankcards) for this option. (To create a PayPal account is free of charge, can be done online, and only takes 5 minutes). You may create your PayPal account while processing the payment. As soon as you have a PayPal account you may pay securely through the system of PayPal. After giving your personal data you will be automatically transferred to the safe web site of PayPal. When you have finished the payment procedure on PayPal an automatic confirmation e-mail will be sent to you about the successful payment. This e-mail also includes your order and the details of payment.

In the information panel please write your order identification number that is given in the e-mail sent to you as acknowledgement of the order! You have to go to the post office. In this case you should calculate with a couple of hundred HUF extra charges depending on the amount of the sum, and the current rate of the post office. All payment is done in advance in the web shop! The highlighted, bold “Total xxxxx Ft” sum (which can be found in the “checkout” “acknowledgement of the order” page) should be paid in the chosen method.

 

Delivery conditions

Pay attention! We only sell alcoholic drinks to registered customers over 18! Therefore the courier or salesperson has the right to ask for your ID if in doubt! Neither the courier nor the salesperson will hand over alcoholic drinks to customers under 18! In case of postal delivery of alcoholic drinks the customer must be over 18. We deliver products from door to door all over Hungary, but no international shipping is possible. The shipping may be via courier or via post. .

Shipping costs via courier:

All over Hungary: Gross HUF 2 250/package

You may place your order any day and any time, our system automatically processes it and acknowledges it. We deliver the ordered products in 5 working days at the latest (in case of ordering books, longer delivery times are possible). Should a different delivery time is given in the specification of the product, than that is the authoritative. The courier will try to get in contact with you 3 times to discuss an appropriate delivery time. If he fails to get in contact with you he will transfer the product back to British Store. We will try to contact you for an additional week, and afterwards we cancel your order. Upon receipt of the product you shall not have to pay to the courier.

Shipping costs of Hungarian postal items (only to the country)

To the country, without normal value insurance, as domestic post parcel, between 0 and 20kg at customer’s risk: Gross HUF 1 280/parcel.

We do not take any responsibility for packages delivered by post (not registered). The Customer bears all damages attributable to postal delivery. You may place your order any day and any time, our system automatically processes it and acknowledges it. We deliver the ordered products in 5 working days at the latest. Should a different delivery time is given in the specification of the product, than that is the authoritative.

In case of personal receipt there is no shipping fee in certain districts of Budapest. The door to door delivery is free of charge in district I., II., V., VI., VII., XII., XIII., XIV. of Budapest. Please ask information about discount possibilities in other districts.

You may place your order any day and any time, our system automatically processes it and acknowledges it. We process the received orders within 5 working days at the latest, and inform you about its handover time on the site of British Store. Should a different delivery time is given in the specification of the product, than that is the authoritative.

The purchased products need not be taken over personally, but we can only hand it over to a person over 18.


Complaint

In case of any complaints about the quantity and/or quality of the purchased products our courier will return it to us, under the condition that the complaint has been made at the time of delivery. In case of just claim – you did not get what you ordered, it is not the right amount, the parcel is damaged – we contact you to agree on a new delivery date. The shipping fee in this case is certainly covered by our company. Should you have any questions, comments, or remarks in connection with our company or the products, please get in contact with us. Feel free to contact us by phone from Monday to Thursday between 12pm and 1pm on 06-20-4147373 , or any time at info@britishstore.hu, or on the “Feedback” menu on our website. This e-mail address is protected from spam searchers. If you wish to cancel your registration, please write to us.

Cancellation

You may cancel your order up until 8 days after delivery without any reason, if you can return the goods unpacked to the site of bk independent Kft. or any branches of it under the following conditions. The operator of British Store web shop is obliged to pay back the purchase price of the product in 30 days at the latest. The shipping fee of the returned product is covered by Customer at all times. If you wish to return it by post please send it to 1136 Budapest, Tátra utca 30/B . In case the weight of the returned product is less than 2 kg you may send it to the post address of bk independent Kft.: 1276 Budapest, Pf. 66.

Other provisions


In issues not regulated in current Terms and Conditions the governing law is the stipulations of the Hungarian Civil Code, and the statutory order 17/1999. (II.5) of contracts between absents.

 

Marketing

Undersigned Customer agrees to the above Terms and Conditions and thus agree that operator and owner of the web shop shall forward his data to a third person for shipping purpose, or shall use them for its own purpose for scientific research, public opinion research, market research, as well as direct solicitation of new business, develop own business plan, and own market research.
